Octopus Real Estate strengthens its quality assurance capabilities with new hires

5 Aug 2024 By jackpritchett

31st July, London: Octopus Real Estate, a part of Octopus Investments and a leading specialist real estate lender and investor in the UK, has bolstered its quality assurance capabilities by making a new hire to its in-house Quality Assurance Team. It has also appointed a new Chair to the Quality Assurance Committee.

Dr Jane Masoli will sit as Chair of the Quality Assurance Committee which was founded in 2014. The Committee monitors and assesses clinical matters relating to the healthcare investments managed by Octopus Real Estate (ORE). In her role, Jane will be responsible for overseeing and promoting a culture of best practice in quality assurance across its portfolio of investments.

As a registered NHS consultant, Jane brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to ensure ORE continues to provide excellent care at all levels. Jane works as an NHS Consultant Geriatrician and is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow in Ageing at the University of Exeter.

Octopus Real Estate also welcomes Julie Spencer to its in-house Quality Assurance Team. Julie, a registered nurse with extensive experience in health and social care, joins as Quality Assurance Manager. She will help the team ensure that people residing in Octopus-owned care and retirement homes have an excellent quality of life and receive high quality care.

The Octopus Quality Assurance Team now consists of three qualified practicing nurses, who have a wide range of health and social care experience and knowledge. The team understand the current challenges affecting social care and the responsibility needed to support a sector caring for people with increasingly complex needs.

The team works alongside operators to provide support, to share best practice and to enhance the care that residents living in an Octopus owned care and retirement home will ultimately benefit from. The team also provides guidance by having continued oversight of the homes via in-person visits based on needs and risks, as well as completing quality assurance audit and mock inspections.

Carrie Pilgrim, Quality Assurance Director at Octopus Real Estate, commented:

“At Octopus Real Estate, we have always been champions of quality care and best practice. By welcoming Jane and Julie we are re-affirming our strategy to provide the highest level of care service to our care and retirement homes. We are committed to continue working alongside our operators to drive change and improvements for residents.”

Jane Masoli, added:

“I am thrilled to be joining the Quality Assurance Committee, throughout my career I have been dedicated to ensuring a high quality of care for the older population and I was pleased to see this dedication mirrored within the Quality Assurance team at Octopus Real Estate.”
